RESPONSIBILITIES

• Source and purchase essential lumber supplies for home building construction
• Prepare purchase orders and confirm the accuracy of orders
• Negotiate the purchase and acquisition of all supplies and materials
• Work through the complex supply chain to prepare adequate amounts of materials in the pipeline for long lead time products
• Review quotes to ensure accurate costing measures
• Identify suppliers and qualify vendors; execute vendor audits regularly
• Resolve purchasing issues with vendors
• Review delivery schedules to safeguard timely delivery of materials and products
• Maintain vendor pricelists
• Partner with Operations to preserve quality and quantity of supplies are accurate
• Confirm inventory receipts and identify any discrepancies from the initial purchase orders
• Maintain inventory integrity with cycle counts and periodic full counts
• Protect the organization's values by keeping information confidential

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or other relevant business experience
• 5 years’ experience in sourcing, purchasing, and procurement of materials in the construction / building industry; extensive sourcing experience
• Overall understanding of the purchasing cycle
• Analyze and review data for reporting to organization and vendors
• Advanced system skills – use of CRM / ERP; proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to adapt to internal purchasing programs; willingness to learn
• Proven negotiation skills; strong problem-solving skills
• Understand basic math skills to be used in pricing material, costing orders, and managing inventory stock levels
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong team player
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and professionalism always
• Possess strong time management skills
• Not intimidated by social interaction, either on the phone or in person
