Job Description

SUMMARY Manages and completes assigned desktop investigations, including evidence review, telephone recorded interviews, database searches, and other ad-hoc claims investigations. Completes timely and complete reports on appropriate SIU assignments. Travel in support of field operations as needed. Reports to Director of SIU Services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• • Desktop Investigations – Manages and completes assigned desktop investigations, including evidence review, telephone recorded interviews, and database searches. Completes timely and accurate reports. With supervision, assists claims staff and SIU to conduct other ad-hoc claims investigations. Completes timely and complete reports on appropriate SIU assignments.
• • Investigative Research - Conducts investigative information searches utilizing a variety of databases for various customers in Claims, Underwriting and Security. Reviews the customers’ requests and conducts a comprehensive and cost-effective search to provide the data. Verifies the accuracy of the data and prepares investigative search findings for the customer. Assists in interpreting the results and developing investigative plans for field personnel.
• • Communication - Maintains effective and ongoing communication with claims staff, internal and external business partners, insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, other insurance companies, project team members, claims leadership, and vendors.
• • Customer Service - Ensures customer service excellence. Responsible for the client, agent, internal staff, and claims professional experience associated with assigned SIU Desktop investigations.
• • Compliance - Monitors compliance with local, state, and federal regulations that affect the referral of suspect insurance claims.
• • Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments and training.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• • 1 or more years of claims investigative or industry relevant experience OR currently working toward a criminal justice or related degree.
• • Proven ability in performing searches on different search engines.
• • Strong analytical, tracking, and monitoring skills.
• • Excellent verbal and written communication skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of the management, clients, and internal staff.
• • Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
• • Ability to build relationships.
• • Proven ability to handle sensitive materials and communications with confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• • Proficient use of various core systems, office and computer equipment, and software packages.
• • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
• • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.
• • Field investigative experience a plus.
