    The Humane Society of Broward County, Inc., is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is identified nationally as a “Leader in Animal Welfare”. We provide shelter, aid and responsible adoptions to animals entrusted to our care, and educate the community about respect and kindness to all animals.

    Job Summary: Provide humane care and treatment for the animals in our facilities; clean and disinfect kennels and catteries according to established standards.

    Job Type: Full-time. Requires weekend availability.

    Compensation: $13/hr

    Work Environment: Requires handling of small and large domesticated animals.

    Responsibilities:

    • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas such as kennels, catteries, etc.
    • Feeds and waters the animals as prescribed based on age and size
    • Visually inspects animals for overall health problems and follow-up if necessary.
    • Observes behavioral changes that could indicate illness or injury.
    • Assists with animal rescues, transports and provides support in the setup of off-site adoptions as needed.

    Ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, attention to detail, affection for animals and concern for their welfare.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Knowledge and understanding of animal breeds and temperament.
    • No prior experience necessary
