Our client, a pioneer institution in technical education with a legacy spanning over a century, is seeking an HVAC Instructor to join their distinguished faculty. They are specifically looking for a HVAC professional with significant industry experience who is eager to transition into an educational role as an HVAC Instructor, where prior teaching experience is NOT required but a passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring students is essential. Responsibilities:
Prepare, set up, and organize materials, tools, and equipment for instructional and lab sessions
Facilitate learning activities to teach HVAC principles, theory, hands-on skills, and professional work habits
Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and success
Assist students during lab and classroom activities, ensuring clear communication and guidance
Maintain lab equipment in proper working order, perform minor maintenance, and ensure a safe learning environment
Monitor inventory, identify supply needs, and help maintain a clean and organized lab space
Assess and track student progress, providing academic and technical feedback to support development
Use current industry practices and standards in course content and instruction
Collaborate with team members to develop, update, and improve curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials
Participate in student recruitment, job placement efforts, and monthly Open House events
Build and maintain industry and professional relationships to support the HVAC program
Actively participate in the Program Advisory Committee and accreditation activities, including assessment and reporting
Maintain required industry credentials and certifications
Attend meetings and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and leadership
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in HVACR or related field, or earned within 18 months
5+ years recent, relevant industry experience
EPA 608 Universal credential, or earned within 12 months
Meets HVAC Excellence standards within 6 months of hire
