We’re Not Looking for Just Any Installer. We’re Looking for a Craftsman.
At AVF Heating & Air, we’ve built a reputation as one of the most trusted HVAC companies in Volusia and Flagler County! With nearly 1,000 five-star Google reviews, BBB accredited since 2011, and second-generation family ownership that’s been here for the long haul. We have technicians who’ve been with us for over a decade, and we’re growing — which means we need to add someone to our install team who holds themselves to the same standard we do.
That means something specific to us. We’re talking about copper lines run with intention. Ductboard plenums that are cut square, sealed tight, and built to last. Equipment set level and secured cleanly. Painter’s tape used correctly so every exterior line looks like it belongs there. We want the homeowner to walk out to their unit and immediately notice the difference between our work and everyone else’s.
If you take a picture of your installs before you leave a job because you’re proud of them — we want to talk.
What This Role Actually Looks Like : You’ll lead a two-person install crew (Lead + Helper) on residential split systems and packaged units throughout Volusia and Flagler County. You’ll be the standard-bearer on every job — the one who sets the tone for how work gets done.
Day-to-day responsibilities include: • Full installation and start-up of residential and light commercial HVAC equipment • Fabricating and installing ductboard including custom plenums, four-piece offsets, and transitions — built to spec, without air leaks • Running copper refrigerant lines cleanly; using sheet metal, silver flex, mobile-home flex, and flexible tubing as the job demands • Applying finish work details: proper painter’s tape lines, clean equipment set lines, tidy electrical and drain routing • Light carpentry and drywall work as needed during equipment repositioning or attic/closet installs • Equipment start-up, performance verification, and commissioning • Diagnosing and correcting issues identified at start-up before leaving the job • Walking the homeowner through their new system and discussing future recommendations or upgrade opportunities
Who You Are • You’ve been doing this for at least 3 years and you’ve developed real opinions about how installs should be done • Your ductboard work is tight — you can build a plenum from scratch, measure an offset correctly the first time, and seal it without leaks • You carry your own tools because you’ve picked the ones you trust • You have EPA 608 certification • You have a clean, valid driver’s license • You can swing a Sawzall, cut plywood, and patch drywall when a job calls for it • Bonus: you’ve got photos of past installs you’re willing to show us — or letters of recommendation from past employers
What We Offer Pay is based on skill and experience. If your work is exceptional, we’ll pay accordingly — we’d rather have one great installer than two average ones.
• Monthly Quality Bonus — we track installation quality, not just output. Installers who consistently deliver clean, tight, leak-free work earn additional monthly bonuses. Your craft pays. • Commission Opportunities — earn additional income when you identify and present upgrade opportunities to customers at time of installation (zoning, IAQ products, UV lights, extended warranties, and more) • Paid Time Off • Health, Dental & Vision Benefits • IRA Retirement with Company Match • Tool Assistance Program • Ongoing company-paid, growth-focused training
Full-time, year-round position (35–40+ hours/week). Availability for occasional late days and Saturdays required.
How to Apply Send us your resume and if you have photos of your work or letters of recommendation, include them. That goes to the top of the pile, every time.
