NYC union HVAC contractor seeks Parts Manager for their growing business. This is a union role with local 638B

The HVAC Parts Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the parts department, including inventory control, purchasing, vendor relationships, and warehouse organization. This role works closely with service technicians, installers, and office staff to ensure timely availability of parts while maintaining inventory accuracy and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory levels of HVAC parts, tools, and equipment.
• Order parts and materials from approved vendors while negotiating pricing and delivery schedules.
• Receive, inspect, label, and stock incoming shipments.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software.
• Process warranty returns, defective parts, and vendor credits.
• Coordinate parts availability for service calls and installation projects.
• Work with technicians to identify and source hard-to-find or special-order parts.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
• Monitor inventory turnover and recommend stock adjustments.
• Ensure warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Track purchasing budgets and control inventory costs.
• Train and supervise parts department personnel as needed.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of HVAC parts, warehouse, or inventory management experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, components, and industry terminology.
• Experience with inventory management and purchasing software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
