    Job Summary- Sheet Metal Estimator:

    The Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects with a focus on sheet metal systems. This role involves reviewing project plans and specifications, performing takeoffs, soliciting vendor and subcontractor quotes, and compiling competitive bid proposals. The estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with project goals

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for HVAC sheet metal systems

    • Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs using estimating software or digital plan takeoff tools

    • Obtain pricing from vendors and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services

    • Prepare detailed bid proposals and ensure all components of the estimate are complete and accurate

    • Attend pre-bid meetings and job site visits as required

    • Communicate and coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to review and clarify scope and ensure alignment

    • Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for future reference

    • Track and analyze market trends and labor costs to ensure competitive estimates

    • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, codes, and client requirements

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC estimating, particularly in sheet metal systems

    • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, fabrication, and installation processes

    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and mechanical drawings

    • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble AutoBid, FastDUCT, Bluebeam, PlanSwift)

    • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (SMACNA, ASHRAE, etc.)

    • Excellent analytical, math, and organizational skills

    • Effective verbal and written communication skills

    • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
