The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist is a supply chain and logistics professional specialized in ensuring cost-effective purchase of all materials and services as required by the procurement plan while ensuring quality control and compliance with the Company's policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years of previous Procurement and Inventory Specialist experience.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market.
- Talent in negotiations and networking
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Advanced computer skills with the ability to use MS Office and Google Apps with proficiency.
- Boating parts knowledge and experience preferred.
- Experience with Dockmaster software a plus.
Essential Functions:
- Create and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry
- Build long-term relationships with vendors in the industry
- Compare proposals for price and specifications
- Negotiate with vendors to reduce costs
- Review contract specifications on behalf of the company
- Communicate with vendors to ensure that the product arrives in a timely fashion
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with critical suppliers
- Manage technological systems that track the shipment, inventory and supply of materials
- Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports
- Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
- Keep abreast of changing industry trends
- Issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and the accounting system.
- Maintain all customer and vendor lists.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly entry.
- Receive and process purchase orders consisting of standard and non-standard requests; ensure order accuracy.
- Responsible for the management of defective inventory and determining disposition of scrap versus repair
- Communicate and work with Service Writers and Technicians regarding parts, procurement and status
- Manage inventory quantity and dollars in stock in accordance with company policy
- Manage bulk seasonal stocking to maximize profitability of fast moving parts and seasonal needs
- Working with accounting to receive, process and code all parts department invoices including credit card invoices to be turned into accounting twice monthly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
