Job Description:
· Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
· Maintain positive colleague relations through effective communication and prompt attention to colleague concerns.
· Assist salaried colleagues in preparing and documenting disciplinary action.
· Provide support to salaried colleagues on company policies and procedures.
· Maintain applicant files and records as required by federal and state law.
· Coordinate applicant testing through external third party/internal testing administration.
· Assist in the orientation program for all new hires.
· Conduct exit interviews with all terminated salaried colleagues.
· Develop and maintain job descriptions for all salaried job descriptions.
· Maintain training records for all colleagues.
· Administer the company benefit plans by servicing the company on a daily basis.
· Assist colleagues as a facilitator with the insurance companies and with Corporate Benefits.
· Counsel terminated colleagues of their options under the COBRA guidelines. Notify corporate benefits of the termination so the appropriate paperwork is sent to the colleague.
· Functions as the company contact for the 401K plan for salaried colleagues
· Acts as a liaison between departmental managers and purchasing with the processing of contractors and working with MLS.
· Maintain accurate records for all salary colleagues and prepare disciplinary write-ups as necessary.
· Assist in processing all MESC forms and represent the company at all unemployment hearings.
· Maintain all active and terminated salary files in compliance to federal and state employment laws.
· Coordinate all salaried performance reviews after 90 days.
· Assist with colleague relations “fun activities” (ex Picnic, Christmas Party) and community service activities (ex. Blood Drive, United Way, etc.).
· Assist with the management and tracking of workers compensation, primary contact with carrier and with clinic for work related injuries.
· Tracks and reports department metrics on a monthly/annual basis.
· Assists in the design and implementation of improved processes, structures and approaches.
Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing all daily work activities.
· . Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
· Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area.
· Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II procedures, etc.)
· Track and issue attendance disciplines.
· Recruiting for all open positions for all locations, (hourly, salary, DOT regulated)
· Initiating DOT Regulated background check, drug screenings, and physicals.
· Complete verifications of employment (VOE) for all new hires.
· Collecting and verifying all compliance documents are provided to safety and HR for all new hires.
· I-9’s and E-verify’s

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business or equivalent experience.
· Zero to three (3) years experience in Human Resources.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
· General knowledge in several HR processes and practices (labor relations, organizational development, leadership development, compensation, benefits, etc.)
· SPHR or PHR certification preferred.
· Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
· Strong problem resolution skills, along with customer service and team orientation skills.
· Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
