Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING team as a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER – PARTS BUSINESS UNIT in Clarion, IA. This position plans, coordinates, and performs manufacturing engineering work for a project or process. Operates in a team environment within the enterprise product delivery process and the enterprise order fulfillment process. At this level, projects are of moderate scope and responsibility or may be a significant portion of a major and diverse project or process. Decisions are made within established guidelines and may be reviewed by managers. May assign, coordinate and review portions of the work for support personnel, contractors, and suppliers.
_ _ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- FOCUS TO BE ON THE WELD AREA OF THE BUSINESS with the ability to flex into paint and fabrication..
- Provides support and basic trouble shooting for current operations. Investigates, gathers, and analyzes data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
- Establishes routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations and/or new parts or programs of limited scope.
- Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas of limited scope.
- Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.
- Develops and implements projects of moderate scope to support operations efficiency, capital improvements and factory master planning. Project categories could include: new manufacturing processes, updated department layouts, capital equipment purchases, and factory automation.
- Coordinates implementation activities with functional disciplines to plan and execute projects.
- Develops, tracks, and meets the capital and expense budget at the project level.
- Schedules and tracks progress of all aspects of the project to aggressively work toward successful project completion in a timely manner.
