  • Responsibilities

    The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is a full-time position reporting to the Controller and assisting the Vice President for Business and Finance. 

     

    Job duties include but are not limited to : 

    • Generate and email monthly student billings;
    • Review and adjust student accounts as needed;
    • Adjust and input bookstore charges onto student accounts;
    • Respond to emails and phone calls regarding student account questions;
    • Process housing and meal plan charges on student accounts, process new move-ins and withdrawals from housing, prepare weekly housing balance reports, review housing deposits, suspend and reinstate meal plans as directed by Housing, and reconcile housing/meal plan charges;
    • Oversee the University ID card system including processing fitness center ID card requests, adding/deleting students, contractors, faculty, and staff ID card access, assigning appropriate privileges to ID card holders, and resolving issues with ID card access problems;
    • Oversee the financial student appeal process including providing appropriate paperwork to students, answering questions about the process, reviewing each appeal, gathering appropriate documentation for appeal review, and notifying students of the decision made;
    • Process the student collection accounts including preparing final notice letters, creating the collection file, communicating with the outside collection agency, reviewing monthly statements from the outside collection agency, and working with the outside collection agency to provide settlement offers and providing documentation as necessary;
    • Manage student accounts with bankruptcies;
    • Process and record snag payments;
    • Assist students with emergency student loan requests;
    • Receive, process, and reconcile faculty and staff travel advance requests;
    • Work closely with Controller on all aspects of accounts receivable;
    • Performing other duties as defined by the Controller or Vice President for Business and Finance.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, and a minimum of one year of responsible employment. 
    2. Must be able to comprehend and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations and communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
    3. Ability to perform problem solving and decision-making as well as maintain effective working relationships.
    4. Requires excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi task.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    1. Three years of accounts receivable related work experience.
    2. Master’s degree in Business or a related field. 
    3. Knowledge of the Blackboard ID system.
    4. Experience working at an institution of higher education.
    5. Knowledge of Banner and a thorough understanding of higher education administration.

    SALARY RANGE:

    Commensurate with experience.

    1. Current state registration/licensure or limited permit as an Occupational Therapist.
    2. Demonstrates professional behavior and appearance.
    3. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs and in-services as requested, which may require overnight travel.
    4. Ability to work on and comprehend computerized technology.
    5. Protects patients/residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    6. Must be able to speak the English language in a comprehendible format.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    1. Subject to lifting, carrying and supporting patients/residents.
    2. Must be able to lift medical equipment, supplies, etc.
    3. Must be able to move (walk, bend, stand, sit, push, pull, lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
    4. Must be constantly alert for patient/resident safety.
