The SYSTEMS ENGINEER I is a key contributor to the mission by providing day to day server, computer, network and storage support. Building and managing all aspects of network (route/switch/firewall/load balance), server, virtualization (VMware), security, storage, and email/collaboration platforms. Building, supporting and maintaining the enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.

     

     

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Manage installation, configuration, setup, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and decommissioning of servers/networks and associated equipment and hardware (including data center compute/storage) in a VMware environment
    • Perform system backups and restoration of systems as required in accordance with company policies and procedures
    • Assists in overseeing the performance of the network and servers, ensuring a smooth running technology infrastructure
    • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replaces defective components when necessary
    • Performs audits, preventative maintenance, upgrades, patch management, and firmware upgrades
    • Supports network and system related projects according to agreed upon budget and schedules.
    • Monitors and maintains email applications and enterprise virus protection
    • Assists in the management and maintenance of disaster recovery systems, including failover testing
    • Partners in a 24/7 network and system support team ensuring optimum network functionality, performing maintenance requiring server downtime after-hours.
    • Maintains and supports security policy, implementing security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
    • Partners with users to resolve issues and problems they are experiencing related to system performance.
    • PowerShell / WMI Scripting Knowledge
    • Performs other related job duties, as assigned.

     

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrated successful problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in project management, research and data analysis.
    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Engage effectively with professionals at all levels of the organization.
    • Organize work, prioritize, delegate to meet deadlines and make timely decisions with sound judgment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field required.
    • Minimum of 3 -5 years hands-on experience designing, building and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Systems (RDS, AD, GPO, Print/File, Application, Database), Cisco Networks (Nexus Route/Switch, ASA firewalls, Meraki
    • Firewall/Switch/WAP) and VMware (vCenter, vSphere, vCloud and NSX) virtualization products
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Products (Office 365, Intune, ATP, Azure Active Directory)
    • Preferred Certifications: CCNA, MCSA, VCA

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Work in an office environment.
    • May require work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside normal business hours.

    SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

    1. Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association.
    2. Current state registration/licensure, or limited permit as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    3. Demonstrates professional behavior and appearance.
    4. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs and in-services as requested, which may require overnight travel.
    5. Ability to work on and comprehend computerized technology.
    6. Protects patients/residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    7. Must be able to speak the English language in a comprehendible format.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    1. Subject to lifting, carrying and supporting patients/residents.
    2. Must be able to lift medical equipment, supplies, etc.
    3. Must be able to move (walk, bend, stand, sit, push, pull, lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
    4. Must be constantly alert for patient/resident safety.
