  • Responsibilities

    Responsible for providing health care to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. Works in conjunction with a supervising physician, follows established guidelines as required and within scope of practice.

     Clinical Services: 

    • Follows acute and chronic standard of care.
    • Abides by all federal, state, and regulatory guidelines.
    • Uses health promotion principles and techniques and patient learning measurements.
    • Gathers and analyses physiological, socioeconomic and emotional patient data.
    • Accurately evaluates patient problems in person or via phone and provides appropriate advice, intervention or referral.
    • Evaluates and revises care plans based on patient changes, special examination or results of laboratory / radiologic tests results.
    • Thoroughly documents all encounters, in person or via phone, in the patient’s medical record.
    • Makes responsible decisions within the scope of practice.
    • Educates patient and families using pertinent health education materials or programs.
    • Operates within approved scope of practice and standardized procedures.
    • Participates in quality improvement process, policy and procedure review and continuing medical education.

     

    Environmental Services: 

    • Contributes to the overall cleanliness and appearance of personal work space and department.
    • Maintains all clinical equipment. Evaluates all equipment for damage or maintenance needs and reports when needed.

     

    Non-Essential Functions/ Marginal Duties: 

    • All other duties as assigned

    10. Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and/or standards from other accrediting bodies, such as The Joint Commission, Rural Health, and Center for Medicare Services. 
    11. As a Studer Partner must have the ability to develop a full understanding of the Studer Group practices and tools and communicate effectively.     Required Experience

    Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved physician assistant program. 

    Work Experience: Previous clinical experience preferred. 

    Required License/ Certification/Registration: Current Kentucky License. Basic Life Support Certification.   Must be eligible for or board certified by the appropriate governing body
