    We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Engineering Manager who will direct, mentor, and manage a dynamic software team while leading engineering projects creating desktop, mobile, and web-based solutions used in the Residential North American (RNA) Supply Channel. The RNA Supply Channel at MiTek pioneers solutions and services for lumber suppliers, builder product suppliers, pro-contractors, and structural engineers in the North American residential construction industry.

    • Cultivate a strong development team co-located in Denver, CO and Chesterfield, MO through hiring, mentoring, and the creation of growth opportunities
    • Manage and lead development’s design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing software
    • Architect features that are scalable, extensible, and available across multiple browsers, operating systems, and device platforms (desktop, mobile, and tablet)
    • Lead projects to decouple business logic from a monolithic, legacy desktop application into reusable packages and micro services.
    • Complete projects on time and within budget
    • Manage resourcing, estimation, scheduling, and execution of tasks, feature sets, and sprint plans.
    • Disseminate progress, blocking issues, and changes to appropriate audience in a timely fashion.
    • Provide vision, goals, and motivation to team and others
    • Provide technical guidance, assistance, and contributions to the team.
    • Communicate effectively team members, senior management, and customers by adapting style and content to the personalities and technical ability of audience
    • Facilitate collaboration between development team and product management, SQA, and other teams to create cost effective solutions
    • Explore and relay opportunities for innovation and improvement
    • Perform annual reviews, help team members define annual goals and objectives
    • Suggest and implement process improvements
    • Evaluate and recommend technologies, hardware, software, and services
    • Interact with customers to help quickly solve or mitigate issues
    • Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required

     

     

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Experience mentoring junior developers and growing their careers
    • Strong technical background, with experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle
    • Effective communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to collaborate with team members, peers, senior management, and customers
    • Ability to refine requirements and instill quality practices in the development process
    • Desired experience operating in an Azure or other cloud environment, including an understanding of costs
    • Desired exposure to REST, micro services, CI/CD, .NET Core, and SQL
    • Understanding of the residential construction industry is preferred

     

    OFFICE HOURS & TRAVEL:    

    Full Time in Denver, CO or Chesterfield, MO. Work from home not available. Limited Travel. Monday -Friday
