We are looking for a Sous Chef. To be successful is this position you need to have an in-depth knowledge of culinary trends, cooking techniques, recipe development and kitchen management. We are looking for a leader who can promote encouragement and staff progression in a professional and positive culture. You must be passionate about training and leading a staff to create outstanding food. Requirements:

At least 1 to 3 years of Sous Chef experience in a full service, high volume restaurant of similar caliber to Halls Chophouse. You must be qualified to submit for this position.

Responsibilities:

Strong knowledge of operational management including, responsibility for the financial performance of the restaurant (alongside with the Executive Chef and General Manager), budgetary disciplines, staff supervision, inventory management, food safety protocols and relationship building with purveyors, suppliers

The preparation and development of menu and recipes with the Executive Chef and culinary team

Strong communication skills and the ability to be an instinctive leader who can make things happen

Continually coach, train and mentor all cooks and current Sous Chefs

Professional experience in the following areas is encouraged:

Conflict resolution

Staff education and motivation

Finance (budgets, inventory, COGS and labor)

Operating systems (Compeat and Aloha)
