  • Responsibilities

    Training will be scheduled May 6th - 22nd. (You will not be scheduled all of those days - each department will be spread out during that time period.)

    We are looking for an experienced Prep Cook to join our team! This is a morning-shift position. You will be preparing a variety of dishes and ingredients to assist the kitchen for the evening shift. You have knowledge in diverse cooking techniques. You are passionate about creating exceptional dining experiences through good, quality food. With previous experience as a Prep Cook, you can manage multiple priorities and contribute to a friendly and productive team atmosphere. Ideally, you have your ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or are willing to attain).

    You have an attention for detail, possess solid knife technique, and can manage multiple prep-projects at one time. You excel at keeping an organized and clean walk-in and are committed to ensuring that your co-workers do the same. You take the responsibility of tracking waste seriously and communicate with your managers when something in the waste log is of concern.

    Responsibilities:

    Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.

    Ensure freshness of food and ingredients through effective rotation and labeling of products in the walk-in.

    Taste, taste, taste! Ensure all prep is cooked and seasoned correctly.

    Communicate with the incoming shift as to what prep items need to be completed/prioritized or if there were any issues during prep.

    Assist teammates when needed.

    Ensure food is stored & cooked at the correct temperature by regulating the temperature of ovens, broilers, grilles, etc.

    Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food product at station to ensure smooth service period.

    Season & cook food according to recipes or personal judgement & experience.

    Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking.

    Qualifications:

    Previous experience as a restaurant Prep Cook preferred.

    Attention to detail.

    Teachable.

    ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or willing to attain).

    Effective communication skills.

    Ability to lift 30+ pounds.

    Ability to work standing for 8+ hours.
