TITLE: Proposal Drafter
EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY: Responsible for producing proposal drawings in support of the Sales department during the Proposal stage of new projects. He/She is also responsible to produce fabrication detail drawings based on the engineering design that conforms with engineering standards, specifications, ASME Code requirements, material availability, and shop practices. Utilize computer-aided design/drafting tools and techniques to perform all drafting and design requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare proposal drawings using application engineers input and references.
- Work with Sales team members to ensure drawings meet all design requirements.
- Work with a project team to enable efficient, effective and successful project execution..
- Prepare shop detail drawings based on the engineering design.
- Prepare Bill of Material's as required to complete detail drawings.
- Participate in developing new procedures and standards in the Drafting Group.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Strong analytical skills to perform essential job functions.
- Good communication skills.
- General understanding of boiler systems;
- Knowledge of structural steel detailing from drafting perspective.
- Basic knowledge of production welding practices.
- Strong CAD (AutoCAD (2019 preferred), 2D or 3D) skills and abilities.
- Technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records; MS Suite familiarity.

EDUCATION:
Technical Degree in Mechanical Drafting or Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design preferred. An equivalent combination of professional experience and education will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
Three to five years of previous related experience preferred.
