    TITLE:  Human Resources Generalist

    EXEMPT STATUS:  Non-Exempt

     

    SUMMARY:  The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

     

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Assist Director of HR in the administration of various employee benefit programs through their lifecycles, such as medical and dental, group, group life insurance, 401k and various voluntary programs.

    • Assist with maintaining the employee handbook and benefits binder, recommending changes as needed.

    • Maintains the affirmative action program prepares EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

    • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directories.

    • Preparation of all new hire onboarding material as well as termination paperwork as needed.

    • Manage all aspects of the employee Leaves of Absence.

    • Handles and responds to employees request for HR support.

    • Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the databases as requested.

    • Assist in the recruitment efforts as requested by HR Director.

    • Part of the team to develop employee training and development programs.

    • Support the annual performance review process with leadership.

    • Participates in developing departmental goals and objectives.

    • Prepares monthly HR newsletter for the organization.

    • Assist in the payroll process as required.

    • Participates in staff meeting and other HR seminars as needed.

    • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulation.

    • Support safety initiatives in the workplace.

    • Compliance with all Group Level policies and Procedures

    • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    College Degree or 4 years HR/Benefits experience

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Intermediate or higher MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word

    • 4 years HR/Benefits experience

     

    SPECIAL DIMENSIONS:  Ability to attend off site conferences less than 5%.
