    SUMMARY: 

    The Project Engineer coordinates the project execution and design with the various disciplines within the engineering team and is responsible for achieving the “as sold” engineering labor cost and schedule and controlling the equipment scope to achieve the budgeted equipment cost.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • • Review in a time sensitive manner the project scope and customer specifications and clearly identify special requirements outside company standards to the engineering team, and other departments as necessary.
    • • Coordinate and manage the engineering project schedule with all departments to meet project goals.
    • • Direct the engineering team to provide timely, complete equipment design to meet the customer and manufacturing requirements.
    • • Coordinate with the engineering team and design supervisors to create a complete drawing package including all special project requirements outside company standards.  Review and approve project drawings and design calculations on a timely basis.
    • • Be the primary technical interface with the customer's design team.
    • • Develop new company work processes and procedures where applicable. 
    • • Create and approve project equipment and subcontract specifications and review supplier drawings on a timely basis to meet customer specifications and Company requirements.
    • • Provide technical support to Project Manager at project meetings, teleconferences and on all project communications as required.
    • • Provide technical support to Project Manager, Field Service, and the Customer for field installation, start-up, testing, and warranty as needed.
    • • Review all customer drawing comments, clarify technical issues and identify possible project scope changes with Project Manager.  Write timely design service requests and/or engineering change notices as required.Review all customer drawing comments, clarify technical issues and identify possible project scope changes with Project Manager.  Write timely design service requests and/or engineering change notices as required.
    • • Other duties as assigned by management.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • • Advanced level of experience in managing multiple tasks associated with large-scope, complex engineering projects.
    • • Advanced knowledge in design or manufacture of high temperature steam equipment and some knowledge and experience working with auxiliary equipment such as pumps, burners, and fans.
    • • Technical expertise in areas of heat transfer, fluid flow, and controls.
    • • Advanced of knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and/or International Boiler Code and ability to read and understand technical drawings, documents and specifications.
    • • Excellent leadership and communication skills required to work with customers on complex projects to meet project goals.
    • • Advanced analytical skills to perform essential job functions.
    • • Must possess broad business concepts to work with multiple Company departments to ensure customer requirements are met on job projects.
    • • Intermediate to advanced technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records:  CADD software, MS Office, MS Outlook, and MRP systems.

    • • Provide excellent customer service and build strong customer relationships.
    • • Create strategic documents, proposals and presentations to management for review and assessment on job project activity to meet Customer needs, identifying opportunities for process improvement in relationship to realistic business requirements.
    • • Provide leadership in setting priorities and working with multi-departments to meet project requirements.
    • • Analyze, organize and manage multiple priorities; sets priorities in an efficient manner and optimizes use of time and resources to accomplish short term and long term goals required to meet business objectives.
    • • Reason and apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems utilizing techniques to systematically breaking down multi-dimensional problems or processes.
    • • Speak effectively, be persuasive, and make presentations on complex topics.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    •    Sit for prolonged periods of time.

    •           Type on a keyboard.

    •           Converse over a telephone.

    •           Perform work within office environment.

    •           Domestic and International travel as needed. 

    EDUCATION:  

    B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering required.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Prefer ten plus years of progressively more responsible related professional experience.
