Credit Specialist - Part Time
POSITION PURPOSE:The Credit Specialist keeps financial records organized and properly addressed within GAAP Guidelines. They issue refunds for duplicate payments while also answering to customer inquiries when necessary. The incumbent demonstrates good math skills, accuracy, attention to detail, clear communication abilities and basic accounting knowledge. The role requires customer service skills for handling all customer interaction and the ability to document transaction processes accurately for tracking purposes. The Credit Specialist produces reports for relevant stakeholders and management. The ideal candidate is a motivated problem solver who can collaborate effectively with team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and reconcile overpayments for the account receivables.
Create regular reports to accurately track credit information.
Perform monthly reconciliations of the general ledger and company financial documents.
Address payment issues within the timeframe identified.
Respond to inquiries in a timely and effective manner and treat customers fairly and consistently.
Communicate effectively with manager to achieve optimum performance.
Prepare and maintain reporting to track progress.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in finance or accounting (preferred but not required).
1-3 years’ experience in accounts receivable and/or cash applications
Ability to work independently and contribute to broader team objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel and customers.
Professional written and oral communication skills – to include applied phone etiquette.
Strong attention to detail with ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, goal-oriented, organized and take pride in their work
PREFERENCES:
Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Software, a plus
Accounts Receivable Experience
Microsoft Excel Power User
WORK SCHEDULE:
Mondays thru Fridays, 9:00am to 2:00pm
Schedule may change according to business operational needs.
