    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The Collections Specialist will be focused on collection of monies due in an effort to reduce the delinquency of assigned accounts in accordance with collections policy. This includes high volume phone calls and/or correspondence to assigned delinquent customers in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department. The Collections Specialist relates well with the customer, demonstrates a favorable image of the company, and utilizes professional communication skills to include active listening and problem-solving skills. Reconciliation of customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due and maintenance of the aging of the assigned AR while acting in the best interest of the company. This position requires Business to Business, 1st Party Collections experience.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Monitor/maintain assigned accounts and actively pursue reduction of delinquency

    Contact assigned accounts via telephone or email to obtain payment on past due amounts in accordance with collections policy

    Provide customers with account balance information including detailed balance statements

    Document call results, including the disposition of calls, customer payment agreements, payment plans and other results

    Research/Identify billing discrepancies and escalate as necessary

    Support multiple accounts focusing on maintaining customer relationship

    Respond to inquiries in a timely and effective manner and treat customers fairly and consistently

    Communicate effectively with manager to achieve optimum performance

    Prepare and maintain reporting to track progress

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1-3 years high volume Business to Business, 1st Party Collections experience

    Knowledge of billing and collections procedures

    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word

    Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment

    Strong negotiating and reconciling skills along with strong attention to detail

    Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel and customers

    Professional written and oral communication skills – applied phone etiquette

    Strong attention to detail with ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, goal-oriented, organized and take pride in their work

    High school graduate (Some College preferred)

    PREFERENCES:

    Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains Software, a plus

    Accounts Receivable Experience

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    Mondays thru Fridays, 9:00am to 2:00pm

    Schedule may change according to business operational needs.
