    SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER - POSITION OVERVIEW

    POSITION SUMMARY: Working closely with the Demand Planner, the Supply Chain Planner will play a pivotal role in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process. Utilizing excellent analytical skills, the Supply Chain Planner will incorporate current and forecasted inventory levels, logistics performance, and supplier capacity into buying recommendations, future purchasing forecasts to our suppliers, and an inventory plan across our warehouse network. This role will be critical in driving profitable growth in years to come.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Use your exceptional analytical skills to determine the quantity and mix of product to be purchased leveraging the demand plan, the ERP system, and logistics and supplier performance data.
    • Determine, by location, the optimum amount of inventory to be stored.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Supplier Management team to ensure the most cost-effective actions are taken to keep inventory at its optimum levels.
    • Investigate, analyze, and resolve system data that may be inaccurate or incomplete.
    • Reconcile inventories in the ERP system with inventory reports from remote stocking locations.
    • Audit inventory postings using intermediate and advanced Excel skills.
    • Enter transfer orders as needed to reposition stock among various stocking locations.
    • Maintain and evaluate ERP planning parameters including but not limited to lot-sizing rules, lead times, and supplier information.
    • Update Sales, Marketing, Director of Operations, and management team of all changes to pricing and to developing trends in factory delivery dates.
    • Review and update factory prices in the ERP system.
    • Update the Demand Planner with supplier-related issues that may affect supply in a manner that could compromise sales.
    • Suggest and drive improvements, such as standardized reports, process improvements, and IT-related enhancements.
    • Review established scorecards and customer reports using Excel spreadsheets, requiring data aggregation experience with Microsoft Excel.
    • Work with Sales and Product Manager on sample needs for New Product Development. Issue sample purchase orders for testing and inspection.
    • Create purchase orders with complete and accurate price, load quantities and product descriptions to achieve the maximum amount of sales with the least amount of inventory.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management/Supply Chain Management or related field.
    • History of quantitative analysis and advanced excel skills (such as pivot table, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IF, and statistical functions) required.
    • 5+ years of experience in inventory replenishment or supply chain planning.
    • Additional experience in other areas of business operations is a plus.
    • Proven track record of ability to analyze and manipulate data to drive informed business decisions.
