Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Handyman to join our team! In this role, you will perform various commercial maintenance needs that may include light bulb replacement, painting classrooms, fence repair, door repair, plumbing, furniture assembly, equipment install, etc.

We are looking for a hard-working team player that is dedicated to performing quality work for the schools. Significant past experience as a professional maintenance worker is highly preferred and a positive attitude is a must!

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a handyman / general maintenance

Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA)

Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry

Ability to lift 30+ lbs on a consistent basis

Job Responsibilities:

🔧 General Maintenance

Perform routine inspections of buildings, playgrounds, and grounds at all three campuses.

Complete basic repairs (e.g., door handles, hinges, shelving, locks, bulletin boards, classroom furniture).

Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other consumable items.

Touch-up painting and minor drywall patching.

Maintain walkways, entryways, and parking lots free of hazards.

🛠 Preventive Maintenance

Monitor and address small leaks, clogs, or drainage issues before they worsen.

Check and tighten loose fixtures, screws, and bolts throughout facilities.

🏫 Playground & Outdoor Safety

Inspect and repair playground equipment for safety compliance.

Maintain outdoor fencing, gates, and locks.

Remove debris, trash, or hazards from play areas.

🚚 Multi-Site Support

Travel between all three campuses to handle scheduled tasks or urgent maintenance requests.

Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies between locations.

Coordinate with administrators to prioritize work based on urgency and location.

📦 Supplies & Inventory

Maintain an organized supply of tools, hardware, and common repair materials.

Notify administration when specialized parts or contractors are required.

Track and document completed repairs and supply usage.

📋 Special Projects

Set up and break down furniture or equipment for school events.

Assist with seasonal tasks (e.g., weatherproofing, snow removal, summer repairs).

Support any remodeling or renovation projects as assigned.

🤝 Communication & Compliance

Respond promptly to maintenance requests via phone, text, or work order system.

Follow all safety protocols and child care center regulations.

Communicate with school directors about completed work and outstanding needs.

Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor around staff, children, and families.
