    Job Summary:

    The Handyman and Porter is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of assigned buildings or facilities. This role ensures that the property is well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and provides a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors. This hybrid role involves coordinating office moves, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facility, performing minor repairs, and maintaining stocked kitchens to ensure smooth daily operations.

    Building & Handyman Duties:

    • Learn the new building systems, and how the building systems operate.

    • Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.

    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the facility meets safety and cleanliness standards. Notify housekeeping as needed to address deficiencies.

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, incidents, and monthly expense reports.

    • Make recommendations on preventive maintenance schedules, as needed.

    • Coordinate with landlord to schedule repair of major building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.

    • Obtain multiple quotes for minor services. Schedule and supervise service providers. Submit repair orders as required, and coordinate payment of invoices.

    • Assist with furniture relocation, and assembly of new furniture and other office equipment.

    • Room setup and breakdown for meetings or events.

    • Perform minor repairs and installations as needed.

    • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.

    • Coordinate office moves with department heads.

    • Assist with IT and Security tasks as needed.

    General Porter Duties:

    • Visits all kitchens twice daily to check for stock and refill fridges and bins, preferably as first task of the day and shortly after lunch.

    • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries. Move supplies or equipment as needed.

    • Clean spills and maintain hygiene standards. Monitor and restock cleaning supplies.

    • Assist with cleanup after company events.

    • Regularly inspect and clean refrigerators in 7 kitchens, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, or related field preferred.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for email.
    • Proven experience in building or facilities management with kitchen support.
    • Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
    • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
    • Physical stamina to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
    • Certifications such as BOMA, IFMA, or OSHA training are advantageous.
