  • Responsibilities

    We are seeking a purchasing specialist who will be responsible for sourcing new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. The purchasing specialist will also be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any supply issues or discrepancies. be able to develop efficient purchasing solutions and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
    • Team player with strong organizational skills.

    Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

    None

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position.

    Monday-Friday, core work hours 1st shift

    Flexiblility- Availability to support business needed

    Must be available to work weekends when requested by Supervisor.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Computer experience with knowledge of Word and Excel
    • High school diploma/GED required.
    • 2+ years of experience as a purchasing specialist or in a similar role.
    • Associate degree or higher in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field preferred.

    Preferred/Desired:

    • Need to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuously improving environment.
    • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
    • The ability to work with components constantly along a production line without adverse effects.
    • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other.
    • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other.
    • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development.
