    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    The EPC Sales Manager is a self-starter who provides leadership in the organization and is primarily engaged in management activities that establish the direction of a department, function, or project[KN1] . This position will be responsible for building and managing an opportunity pipeline, conducting training, performing customer presentations, as well as handling various other business development and sales-related activities, while possessing the ability to establish working relationships for internal support. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of EPC sales and possess existing relationships at the executive level within customer organizations.   Experience with the site development of utility scale PV projects is required.

    The EPC Sales Manager reports to the Senior Director of EPC Sales, or other senior management personnel that the Senior Vice President/President of the Company may designate. This position is located in a designated region working from a home office, but the employee will be expected to make routine visits to the Irvine, California office. This position may also require travel at least 50% of the time.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead opportunity pursuits from initial screening to contract closure and follows the sales “must have” requirements in all stages of the process;
    • Coordinate client’s contacts with other company sales operations groups and HQC EPC staff, assuring that a consistent corporate approach is taken and cross selling and/or integrated selling is maximized;
    • Maintain contact with prospective clients through sales visits, calls, letters, and other means to assure the company is aware of and considered for planned project work and that any major current issues are highlighted for corrective action to be taken;
    • Track and support key project initiatives within specified target accounts;
    • Possess and cultivate long-term relationships with key management personnel within the customer organization, spanning across procurement, engineering, process controls, operations and the like;
    • Collaborate with both USA and Global Account Sales Team and Business Units to ensure complete opportunity transparency;
    • Consult and align with Corporate functions such as finance, tax, legal, and risk throughout the sales pursuit;
    • Develop and execute strategic account plans to ensure business goals are achieved;
    • Relentlessly focus on assigned installed base accounts taking/encouraging steps to provide a service level that assures continued customer loyalty;
    • Develop effective differentiators and negotiation strategies and understand all key commercial and legal issues;
    • Report Annual business plan and market evaluation, weekly report on revenue and margins, actions completed, look ahead travel and action plans;
    • Work with sales people and distributors to develop and implement individual sales action plans; and
    • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business-related field
    • 8+ years of successful experience in sales to focused EPCs and/or end-users
    • A proven track record of EPC sales and possess existing relationships at the executive level within customer organizations
    • Prior experience in the solar industry is desirable
    • Some experience in Energy Storage is desirable
    • Proficient knowledge of project engineering, procurement and construction processes/procedures
    • Familiarity with industry tax incentives, rebates and tariffs is preferred
    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
    • Superior preparation and presentation skills
    • Willing to travel at least 50% of the time
