Happy Day Catering is seeking applicants for the dual position of Lunch Service Lead and Event Assistant. This position’s primary duties will be coordinating sales and lunch service three days a week at a large local business, followed by event assisting hours in the catering sales department. This is a SALES ORIENTED position, and the successful candidate will be extremely organized, reliable, personable, professional in demeanor and appearance, flexible in hours, and be willing to learn all aspects of event production. This position, if successfully matured, will progressively transition into commissioned Event Producer and eventually Event Coordinator.

As event assistant, this position is responsible for light administrative and planning duties during the event production process, as well as assisting in the execution of events. Assisting duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Answering phones and following up with clients by phone or email;

Creating and maintaining event folders and other paper materials related to events;

Working with Event Producers and Coordinators and back-of-house staff to ensure all contracted materials are event-ready;

Helping to set up, serve, and/or coordinate staff at events; and

Assisting in any other area needed by event producers and coordinators.

This position begins at part-time with the potential for full-time based on performance. Hours will be 9:30am to 5pm, Monday through Wednesday, with flexible hours as needed Thursday through Saturday. Wage starts at $10 hourly, or DOE, plus gratuity at events served.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Willingness to commit to Happy Day Catering’s high standards of excellence

Enthusiasm for our business and creating lasting client and community relationships

1 to 2 years of customer service experience required

Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

Be willing and able to learn our event software, Caterease

Access to reliable transportation

ID Food Safety Training certificate (https://idahofoodsafetyexam.com/)
