Hardscape General Laborer 2

Job Summary:

Baker Landscaping & Concrete, LLC is seeking a skilled and reliable Hardscape General Laborer to join our team. This role is responsible for supporting the construction and installation of hardscape projects, including patios, retaining walls, walkways, and other outdoor living spaces. This intermediate-level role builds on prior experience in hardscape or construction work and requires physical strength, attention to detail, and proficiency with tools and small machinery. Candidates should have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while contributing to Baker Landscaping & Concrete’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Assist with and perform the installation of hardscape materials such as pavers, bricks, blocks, stone, and concrete elements with minimal supervision.

Carry and move materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites efficiently.

Perform digging, leveling, grading, and compacting of surfaces to meet project specifications.

Mix and pour concrete, mortar, and other construction materials as required.

Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery (e.g., compactors, saws, and skid steers) safely and effectively.

Work closely with the Hardscape Foreman to understand and execute project plans.

Clean and prepare job sites, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Load and unload trucks and trailers, organizing tools and materials for job efficiency.

Mentor and assist less-experienced crew members when necessary.

Maintain a clean, organized work environment, including tools, vehicles, and equipment.

Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure job site safety and quality.

Required Skills/Abilities:

2+ years of experience in construction, hardscape, or landscaping.

Ability to follow instructions from supervisors or senior maintenance workers.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.

CDL recommended

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods standing and walking.

Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.

Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. regularly and perform physically demanding tasks.

Work Environment and Conditions:

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Ability to work on uneven terrain, such as dirt, grass, or gravel surfaces.

Exposure to loud noises from equipment and vehicles.

May require wearing protective gear such as gloves, safety boots, or reflective vests.
