Our client, a well-established technology manufacturing company with over 75 years of industry presence, is part of a stable and growing sector that ensures long-term job security, and is currently seeking a Hardware Electrical Engineer to join their team.
The Hardware Electrical Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing innovative hardware systems that support a diverse portfolio of advanced electronic products. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of remote work; however, relocation to Nashville is required for this position.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop embedded electronics hardware, including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and bill of materials (BOM) creation
Develop and optimize power supply circuits to meet project-specific requirements with a focus on efficiency, stability, and safety
Use Altium Designer to create and maintain high-quality schematics and PCB layouts
Ensure all hardware designs meet relevant UL standards, certifications, and safety regulations
Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify risks and implement effective design mitigations
Apply design for reliability principles to increase product lifespan and reduce maintenance needs
Lead prototype fabrication and perform comprehensive testing and validation of hardware designs, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Maintain clear and detailed documentation of all hardware designs, design decisions, and test outcomes
Stay current with industry trends and technologies, contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and engineering practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
5+ years of experience in embedded electronics hardware design
Proficient in Altium Designer for schematics and PCB layout
Solid understanding of power supply design and power management ICs
Knowledge of UL standards and compliance requirements
