Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking an HR Compliance Specialist to join our growing team!  This position will be a part of our shared corporate services and ensure we are well aligned with the ever-changing, complex legal landscape that comes with an organization operating in multiple states and Canada, plus additional international opportunities on the horizon.  Our culture’s foundation is built on our core values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Teamwork.  We are all Teammates on “One Team” aiming for mutual and sustained success!

This position calls for a candidate with advanced or expert knowledge in the Federal, State, and Local employment laws and regulations, including, but not limited to:

• FLSA
• Multi-state employment, wage and hour, and related obligations (including California)
• Form I-9, E-Verify, and various types of work authorizations
• EEO, including AAPs, EEO-1 and VETS reporting
• Background and Drug testing compliance
• Canada/international employment compliance experience strongly preferred
• Harassment and discrimination obligations, prevention, and investigations

The successful candidate will also have extensive experience managing difficult situations using multiple strategies as appropriate, such as coaching, counseling referrals, disciplinary action, and exit interviews, all while ensuring confidentiality and equitable treatment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience operating in a professional and/or management capacity
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, re-prioritizing as necessary to ensure successful, accurate, and timely completion
• Ability to think critically and use sound judgement that aligns with organizational objectives, corporate policies/practices, and legal requirements in complex and stressful situations, to recommend appropriate resolution
• Ability to partner with Teammates of all levels to ensure professional and effective interactions
• A commitment to professional, thorough, and effective communication
• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and be able to travel with little or no notice
