Job Description
This position would be responsible for processing multiple companies of all different types of industries.
Daily tasks will include but are not limited to:
Primary Duties during Tax Season:
*Be able to research & write correspondence in response to IRS/Govt’ Notices
*Input information into the tax program
*Handle the Electronic Filing of all tax returns, including researching and resolving rejections
*Prepare Spreadsheets for use in Tax Return Preparation
*Contact Tax Clients to go over documents and obtain information
*Enter data accurately and efficiently
Secondary Duties during the Off Season:
*Generate sales tax and payroll tax reports and payments (941s, RT-6s, W-2s, & 1099s)
*Maintain system to account for financial transactions by following a chart of accounts
*Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
*Balance accounts by reconciling to bank statements
*Balance general ledger by preparing monthly financial reports
Qualifications:
Working knowledge with MS Office required
Working knowledge of Quick Books required
Working knowledge of Quick Books Online required
Working knowledge of Ultra Tax & Accounting CS helpful
Prior accounting/tax/bookkeeping experience required
Prior accounting firm experience required
Prior experience of preparation of basic tax returns required
Outstanding telephone & communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task
Great organizational skills
Looking for someone who can work efficiently without constant supervision
Must have the ability to interact well with a variety of personality types
Overtime during Tax Season required
Please provide salary requirements. This is not a salaried position; this is an hourly position and will be paid overtime after 40 hours. References & prior experience will be verified.
