    Overview

    The Network Engineer at HarpData understands networking and has the attention to detail required to ensure systems are in place to provide a secure environment. This individual knows when something is not configured right. This individual uses industry knowledge to not only suggest best practices but also to put them into order. When this individual is faced with a difficult task when they are entering the element of the unknown, they have the experience to ask the right questions and get the job done. This position is responsible for ensuring there is no stone left unturned when it comes to secure an enterprise network.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred

    5+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network routers, switches, and firewalls for medium and large size locations and enterprise

    3+ years of hands-on experience with Network technologies and platforms with hands-on experience architecting, designing and supporting complex network environments entailing multiple technologies and tools

    Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with IP based networking and IP based network solutions

    Complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Visio for network designs and diagrams.

    Demonstrated technical knowledge of current network security, network hardware, protocols, and standards required.

    Must have excellent communication skills of the English language (verbal and written).

    Ability to define the complete network infrastructure environment, review project deliverables for completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards and guidelines

    Must be fully knowledgeable and able to design and plan, implement and support IT solutions using two or more of the following technologies:

    Routing and Switching

    Wireless Technologies (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, Mist, etc.)

    Network Security:

    Next-Gen Firewalls

    NAC solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba Clearpass, Forescout)

    Training and Certifications:

    CCNA or CCNP certification preferred

    Industry Certifications - CCIE preferred

    Must also be Cisco Certified or working towards at least a CCNP with qualifying and in-depth Cisco networking experience.

    Multiple industry-recognized Certifications preferred. i.e., CCIE, VCP, NACP, CISSP

    Exposure and configuration of virtualization technologies, including Cisco, Brocade, VMware solutions, etc.

    Strong background in wired network infrastructure components including routers, switches, and layer one technologies

    Training or strong knowledge of privacy laws including HITECH and HIPAA
