    Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a strong brokerage in the Memphis area that is seeking a Claims Manager. This person is someone who can help clients who’ve had property claims (fire damage, storm damage, flood/water damage, etc), and who can meet with adjusters and know whether they are offering a fair settlement to clients. Also, the person will need to negotiate with carriers (adjusters) and sometimes with clients to help mediate and work out an agreeable claim settlement. This person is an advocate for their clients with property claims. The ideal candidate is someone who has been a commercial property adjuster or worked on the insurance company side.

    Position Title: Claims Manager

    Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

    Primary Function: Responsible for managing the claims process and negotiating details of the claims process, ensuring the best service for our clients.

    Supporting Functions:

    • Work closely with Claims Personnel, Producers, and Account Managers to identify and manage complex claims that require follow-up and need specific attention.

    • Research and negotiate disputed claims with insurance companies, and report status to Producers and Account Managers, keeping them informed of all interaction with clients throughout the process.

    • Follow-up as often as necessary and document all progress on open claims.

    • Follow-up and report status of claims that are in litigation to Producers and Account Managers as often as necessary to ensure the claim is being handled in a timely and professional manner.

    • Research and negotiate claims with insurance companies to ensure loss reserves are not excessive. Discuss with Sales Manager or Producers, when necessary, and report significant changes in loss reserves to Producers.

    • Document all communication regarding claims in the agency management system. This includes, but is not limited to, data input, claims transmission, follow-up efforts, claims closing notices.

    • Report any problem with insurance companies or dissatisfaction of any clients to the appropriate Producer and Account Manager.

    • Notify Producer and Account Manager immediately of claims that appear to not be covered by their insurance policy or that have the potential to become volatile in any way.

    • Communicate in a professional manner with all parties involved (i.e. clients, producers, account managers, adjusters, attorneys, etc.) regarding the status of claims.

    • Back up Claims Personnel, as needed, including assisting with phone calls, emails and reporting of claims, ensuring that all new claims are reported the day received whenever possible, or within one business day at the latest.

    • To be on the call rotation for CSR24 phone calls, if needed, and to respond to those calls or pass the information along to the appropriate Producer in a timely manner.

    • Follow all systems and procedures set up by the department and agency.

    • Perform special requests and projects at management’s request.

    • Maintain a predictable and reliable work schedule.

    • Maintain current, sound documentation of all pertinent business-related activities and communications regarding clients’ account while following agency procedures and guidelines for the same, to ensure protection and security of sensitive client data and to document reasons for all changes and actions taken that impact the clients’ account.
