    The position of Environmental Professional builds on and includes your training in field activities and equipment associated with the environmental consulting profession. You will quickly be invited into office activities where you will learn data interpretation, environmental regulatory requirements, assessment planning, remediation system evaluation, technical writing, project cost estimating, project management skills, and professional relationship-building skills. These foundational skills and your commitment to continual development will serve you well as you grow to become a recognized expert in your field.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Candidates for this Raleigh position must have 2 to 4 years of environmental consulting experience and at least a four-year degree in engineering, geology, or environmental science with a solid academic record. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred. Depending on your academic background and work experience, you will be trained to build and expand your skills in areas noted below.

    • Hart & Hickman health and safety program requirements
    • performing field data collection and sampling activities
    • assisting with design & specification of soil and ground water remediation systems
    • overseeing remedial construction and system installations
    • performing system trouble-shooting and O&M
    • compiling & interpreting field and laboratory data
    • remediation methods for various environmental contaminants
    • learning regulatory requirements & contaminant screening levels
    • coordinating environmental contractors
    • preparing cost estimates for field activities
    • technical writing to include work plans and reports
    • technical communications with agency personnel and clients
