JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hart & Hickman, PC is seeking an Environmental Instrument Manager and Field Technician with 3 to 5 years experience for our Charlotte environmental consulting office.  Our goal is to hire top quality technical talent and provide those individuals with opportunities for accelerated career growth through training and by virtue of our diverse and robust project demands.  This position focuses on managing and maintaining our company-owned equipment and instruments used for environmental investigations and remediation, as well as field execution of environmental investigations and remediation activities.

If you like a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment, Hart & Hickman may be a great fit for you.  Candidates will have opportunities in complex site assessment and remediation, enhanced reductive dechlorination for chlorinated solvent plumes, vapor intrusion, Brownfields redevelopment, mechanical remediation system operations, due diligence investigations, indoor air quality, lead-based paint, and asbestos.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing and maintaining our company-owned equipment and instruments used for environmental investigations and remediation
• Field execution of groundwater sampling, soil sampling, vapor sampling, and other field data collection needs
• Assisting in oversight of remediation activities, such as excavation of contaminated soils, injected remedies, underground storage tank removal, and operation of mechanical remediation systems
• Performing and delivering multiple concurrent assignments 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferred candidates will be a service-oriented individual with a 2 yr or 4 yr degree in a technical field 
• At least 3 years of experience calibrating and using environmental instruments, including direct experience with PIDs, water level meters, interface probes, water quality meters (DO, pH, ORP, etc.), peristaltic pumps, etc. used for soil, groundwater and surface water sampling applications
• Experience with meticulous environmental instrument decontamination, maintenance, and associated quality control documentation
• Ability to manage and track an environmental equipment inventory
• Experience in soil and groundwater sampling
• Experience with soil gas, indoor air quality, and asbestos sampling a plus
