MISSION** OF THE ROLE
Coordinates customer and supplier returns of nonconforming product for multiple branch locations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent and/or six months to one year related experience and/or training is desired. Education and/or experience requirements may be waived at management discretion.
**Key Returns Clerk Accountabilities
**
- Examines and compares items with defective label to record information such as quantity, type of defects, part numbers, and other various reasons.
- Examines items that have been returned by the customer, and compares to their packing slip and the company’s return authorization form.
- Processes return items following the disposition noted on defective label or return authorization form and enter into computer and update other return records.
- Requests return authorization from supplier noting reason for return and any other pertinent information.
- Processes returns due back to the customer.
- Follows up on pending returns.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable products or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Makes inventory adjustments as required.
- Handles any special inventory receipts that are out of the norm.
- Investigates inventory shortages/overages.
- Assists in special projects, as required.
- Files return information.
- Backs up Distribution department (shipping and receiving), if required.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

SALARY INFO:
$17 - $22 / HR
