    SUMMARY The Innovation Project Manager is responsible for guiding innovation initiatives (new product development, line extensions, package changes, etc) through  Stage Gate process from initial conception to launch. This role is instrumental to help bring innovation to market faster in a more effective and efficient manner.

    The Innovation Project Manager will manage multiple projects simultaneously and utilize formal project management methodologies. In addition, a successful candidate will manage projects within project and portfolio management system and act as the hub across all functional project teams. This position requires a strong project manager that has experience working across business units (both upstream and downstream) and with internal stakeholders. This position also requires a high level of business acumen to see the big picture as well as manage the project details.

    DESCRIPTION

    • Own a pipeline of projects as a key leader responsible for the institution of project timelines and outlining of resources, with a strong understanding of interdependencies between tasks throughout the process of commercializing a new item.
    • Shepard complex projects through the Stage Gate process, and compile postmortems for review.
    • Lead cross-functional meetings outlining action items for follow ups as guidelines for the core project team(s).
    • Organize cross-functional input (ex.: R&D, finance, operations, insights, marketing) for new projects, ensuring key stakeholders have a voice at the table within the working team.
    • Facilitate project communications (project status, action items, achievements) to key partners and encourage accountability for teams responsible for completing tasks at hand.
    • Act as the “activist” role in overcoming obstacles and keeping projects progressing through the Stage Gate process.
    • Ensure gate deliverables and updates for the Monthly Stage Gate meetings are delivered timely and accurately for his/her projects.
    • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships throughout cross-functional teams.
    • Identify process improvements and be the champion on execution of client processes across various teams.
    • Coordinate bi-annual training of on-call and marketing event staff (Sundance)
    • Supports client Spirit Marketing team with production of national marketing events and:
    • Supports Utah Sales team and manages local Utah marketing events
    • Collaborates with client spirit brands marketing team, sales team and Client hospitality team to create & execute national and local branded sales and marketing events
    • Drive agenda for bi-weekly client marketing/sales integration meeting (formally MIT)
    • Product sourcing and procurement
    • Manage event logistics, staffing and overall operations of event
    • Create detailed event budgets and manage event to plan
    • Collaborate with client’s events team to manage event operations for larger events at client venues (promotional, weddings, 100+ person events)
    • Sell, execute and staff local off-premises whiskey tastings and client bars
    • Schedule private tours and tastings at each client venue in 7-shifts software
    • Manage event supplies and equipment
    • Logistics, coordination, and inventory control at client’s storage facilities including on-site storage
    • Manage the client event set-up/strike team and “on-call” seasonal event staff
    • Work within client event software, Gather, to capture all event details and accounting
    • Update and work within client software: Workday, Ariba, Concur
    • Reports directly to client Beverage Director
