South Coast Winery is a leading winery located in Southern California’s Temecula Valley. Five-time winner of the prestigious Golden Bear award as California Winery of the Year at the California State Fair, we work with over 25 different cultivars to produce 50+ wines including red, white, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines.
Harvest Intern: Interns at South Coast winery are exposed to every activity occurring during harvest, including but not limited to:
Vineyard sampling and crop estimation
Sorting and crushing fruit
Must inoculations
Pump-overs and delestage
Barrel work
All laboratory analyses
Other cellar operations.
This is a paid position, and the successful candidate will be needed up to 7 days each week and be prepared to work outside during the warm summer conditions. You will be working with a team of 7 professionals including 2 winemakers that each have over 30 years winemaking experience. The position starts in late July or early August, potentially through early November.
Requirements: Student in viticulture, enology or wine business, or experience working in a winery. Must have a solid chemistry background in order to perform laboratory analyses. Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 40 lbs, be hard working and flexible.
