Basic job description for EXPERIENCED machinist/grinder for the Elk Grove Village plant.

 Performs required milling, cutting, turning, grinding, polishing to ensure all work is within specified tolerances. Operates horizontal saw and sharpens tools as needed. Reads detailed blueprints/drawings accurately.

 Operates the following tools and equipment effectively and safely: Fork trucks, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, manual lathes, welder, manual grinders, magna-flux, polishing tools, manual/air/power hand tools.

 Parts preparation, clean up and polishing prior to and after machining/polishing process.

 Balances, sandblasts and welds as assigned.

 Ensure timely transfer of part(s) to next step in process.

 Responsible for equipment set up and to calibrate inspection equipment.

 Requires basic understanding of plating and quality control.

 Ability to read blueprints/drawings and use accurate measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, etc…)

 Report equipment maintenance issues to supervisors immediately.

 Perform minor planned and unplanned maintenance/repairs on tools and equipment/machinery.

 Good understanding and operation of plant equipment.

 Must be able to work independently, make decisions and sound judgement calls in the best interest of HHC and our customers.

 Utilizes proper measurement techniques and equipment in carrying out job duties.

 Ensure all EHS rules, company policies and proper inspection procedures are followed.
