Fashion Design Intern

We are a fast-paced, dynamic team seeking a resourceful intern to serve on the front lines of day-to-day initiatives and longer range projects. The ideal candidate for this role is a detail-oriented self-starter who leans in to challenging tasks and is not afraid to make mistakes.

In the role of Design intern, you will serve as a hands-on liaison between the Creative Director, Merchandise Planner and Product Development Associate. While the bulk of your responsibilities will fall under the design umbrella, this role will also have great exposure to both product development and merchandising initiatives. You can expect to learn a lot about the interdisciplinary dynamics of design related work, and gain an understanding of the tasks required of an assistant designer.

FACTS ABOUT YOU

• You are enrolled in and working towards a BFA/BS in Fashion Design, Textile/Surface Design, Technical Design or other related major.
• You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
• You are a team player who is able to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment.
• You are a detail-oriented individual who is able to effectively complete daily tasks in an efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with basic specifications for products including tracking and coordination of local samples and prototypes.
• Carry out basic sewing and construction for in-house prototypes.
• Creation of initial tech packs.
• Measuring garments for development and production fittings.
• Assist with data entry, project management, and organization for product-related initiatives.
