Responsibilities: • Ensure that each construction project produces a high-quality finished product, manage construction workers, conduct routine on-site inspections, and provide guidance as needed • Employ subcontractors and ensure they have all of the necessary permits • Keep a daily record of project progress and home improvements for the project manager and the homeowner • Prepare a written proposal for homeowners that includes a cost estimate for the project • Review subcontractor output concerning schedules and success targets to ensure that the project is on track to be completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards required • Assess the project scope of work to develop an effective completion plan for each task. • Coordinate material procurement to minimize delays and ensure timely availability. • Manage construction schedule and activities to meet project deadlines. • Ensure compliance with relevant building and safety codes. • Cultivate relationships with subcontractors and suppliers. • Uphold quality standards and maintain cleanliness on the job site. • Facilitate timely return of unused materials for site cleanliness and proper credit. • Proactively identify and address potential problems. • Offer feedback to homeowners to enhance their building experience. • Coordinate with independent contractors to optimize production schedules. • Collaborate with suppliers to procure necessary construction materials. • Monitor workmanship quality and provide necessary training. • Utilize creative problem-solving to resolve construction and budgetary issues. • Enforce site policies, particularly safety and cleanliness standards. • Maintain regular communication with homeowners to keep them informed of project progress and ensure satisfaction. Qualifications: • Excellent leadership, time-management, organizational, and communication skills • Completed training for OSHA 30 license and firm adherence to safety protocols on the job-site • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office • 5-7 years of experience in residential construction, with previous superintendent experience required. • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and drawings. • Strong leadership and management skills. • High School diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is a plus. • Professionalism in demeanor and attire. • Preparedness with job-related references for potential interview selection. • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 50 pounds, push and pull heavy items regularly, stoop, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods. • Ability to pass a drug test. • Must live in San Diego • Must have working rights in the USA Compensation: $35 - $40 hourly
