Summary of Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Head of Project Finance. You will be responsible for all project finance initiatives, including raising debt and tax equity to create structured finance solutions that will directly result in increasing the adoption of home batteries. As an early member of a series A startup, you’ll be hands-on in shaping the direction and strategy of finance at Haven as well as leading the day-to-day finance operations.

Haven Energy is on a mission to simplify home electrification and turn every home into a smart electric home. We are initially focused on the deployment of residential energy storage. We believe that widespread, distributed storage will be a key part of our energy future, helping stabilize the electric grid.
Haven guides homeowners through the selection, quoting, financing and scheduling of a home battery system install, and we pair homeowners with vetted, qualified electricians to perform the installation. Post-installation, Haven works with homeowners to integrate their batteries into an aggregated Virtual Power Plant.
What You’ll Do:
Project finance
Lead the strategic planning and execution of debt and tax equity transactions to expand Haven’s unique battery leasing program
Determine the optimal way to monetize tax credits and execute these transactions
Identify and evaluate financing options, negotiate terms, and securing funding from various sources
Maintain relationships with financial institutions, investors, and other key stakeholders
Build structured financing models that reflect terms of various financing vehicles and markets
Operations
Manage and oversee the day-to-day finance operations
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
Leasing program
Oversee and execute the company's residential battery leasing program, ensuring efficient and profitable operations
Monitor and analyze leasing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization
Qualifications:
7+ years of relevant finance experience
Prior experience in structured or project finance, with a preference for a specialization within the energy industry
Exceptionally strong financial modeling and analytical skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proactive self-starter with the ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines
Superior attention to detail and ability to produce high quality work with minimal supervision
