Summary of role
Haven is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to build and lead a function focused on the design and troubleshooting of residential battery storage systems. The sales engineer will be an integral part of the growth of the business, partnering with Sales to support customer projects and partnering with Product and Engineering to build tools that facilitate sales.
The role will be a combination of technical design, creative problem solving, and internal project management. In this role, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop design documents and guidance for third-party installers. You will cross-functionally collaborate with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to ensure that each project is thoughtfully considered and designed to ensure an excellent customer experience.

Collaborate with the Sales team during the sales process to ensure that our customers' needs are being met.
Established close liaison with customers and follow-up on customer needs and requests.
Develop system design concepts to inform the sales process.
Create, review and modify storage system drawing sets.
Adhere to system design criteria including structural, electrical, equipment, and installation parameters
Comply with local and national code requirements in project jurisdictions
Develop and maintain training libraries for process and policy changes and communicate cross functionally
Lead technical meetings with battery and hardware manufacturers. Stay on top of developments in the battery hardware space.
Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams in the development of storage system design tools that help facilitate the sales and system design process.
Requirements
5+ years in solar/storage residential design
Experience synthesizing results, forming recommendations, and delivering to relevant internal stakeholders
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), International Residential Code (IRC), and residential Fire Code
Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software
Experience working with regulatory agencies (AHJs, Utilities) and/or building inspectors
Experience with residential battery energy storage systems.
Experience reading and understanding technical specifications and construction documents.
High level of self-direction. Past experience building out a team and/or a function preferred.
Professional Engineer registration is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally with experience in renewable/solar
