An office in The Hawaii State House of Representatives (D) is seeking a committee clerk for the 2022 legislative session (January through early May) for temporary full-time employment.
Duties will include:
- Coordination of drafting and filing the Representative’s personal introductions;
- Tracking and analyzing legislative measures;
- Attending hearings and reporting to the Representative and Office Manager;
- Creating hearing packets for the Representative; and,
- Performing other duties in support of the office as assigned by the Office Manager and Representative.
The successful candidate must have:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn; and,
- An ability to work well with others.
Must be:
- Currently living on Oahu;
- Energetic;
- Organized;
- Flexible;
- Able to work effectively under pressure to meet office and legislative deadlines; and
- Able to commute to on-island community meetings and/or site visits.
Preferred but not required:
- Experience or academic background in government is preferred; and,
- A college or law school graduate with a BS or BA degree.
