Hawthorne, a full-service advertising agency, a certified Great Places to Work company, is seeking a Staff Accountant, based in the Los Angeles Center Studios near downtown. The Staff Accountant will perform accounting functions and provide financial / operational insights and analysis to drive increased profitability. You will be in a crucial financial role for the creation and airing of commercials, working directly with Creative Directors, Producers, and Media Directors.     Qualifications / Requirements:

    BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance

    Solid understanding of basic accounting and financial principles

    0-2 years similar experience, recent college graduates encouraged to apply

    Entertainment or service industry experience a plus

    Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

    Passion to work in ERP systems, financial and project management software programs, to implement automation

    Proven track record problem solving, analytical skills, and learning

    Responsibilities:

    Process journal entries and prepare systematic reconciliations for month-end close

    Disbursements processing including payroll, accounts payable, and travel & entertainment reports

    Balance sheet and revenue reconciliations

    Prepare supporting documentation for the year-end audit

    Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary
