We are actively recruiting for seven regions identified by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) to join our Intensive Support Social Work Team (ISSWT). This team will partner with counties and the A4O Consultant Team to deliver results in addressing case needs across child welfare program areas.

Located in the heart of North Carolina's Western North Carolina Mountains Haywood County is attractively and conveniently nestled near Asheville.
A4O is currently accepting applications for the position of SOCIAL WORKER III (Permanency Planning). This position maintains a caseload of children in foster care; provides intensive casework services to families and children; works to reunify families when feasible; and provides placement services.
Requires a thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems; considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques; and skill in establishing rapport with a client and in applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client's problems.
Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Social Work; or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and one year of human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and two years of directly related experience. Experience in NC child welfare roles, crisis intervention and/or interviewing and assessment related to safety preferred. Bilingual applicants preferred. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. If degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of transcript with application. A valid driver's license is required.
