    Head Chef Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s | North Myrtle Beach, SC

    Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead the Back of the House at our North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina location.

    Position Summary

    The Head Chef is responsible for the daily operations of the Back of the House, including food preparation, product quality, sanitation, and the supervision and development of kitchen leadership and staff. This role plays a key part in managing BOH labor costs, waste, and controllable comps, while ensuring compliance with health regulations, company standards, and LuLu’s core values.

    Key Responsibilities

    Oversee daily BOH operations, ensuring consistent food quality, safety, and sanitation

    Supervise, train, and develop kitchen leadership and BOH team members

    Manage BOH labor costs, food waste, and controllable comps

    Create and manage weekly BOH schedules

    Coordinate with the GM/AGM on payroll, labor, and time clock adjustments

    Oversee purchasing and receiving, including seafood from approved vendors

    Ensure proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and allergy awareness

    Maintain kitchen equipment, cleanliness, and facility standards

    Ensure compliance with health department regulations and LuLu’s Allergy Program

    Coordinate kitchen operations for on-site and off-site events as needed

    Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of BOH staff

    Lead by example, demonstrating LuLu’s core values and teamwork-focused culture

    Qualifications

    ServSafe Manager Certification preferred

    High school diploma or GED required

    Degree in culinary arts, hospitality, business management, or related field preferred

    Three or more years of food preparation experience in a full-service restaurant

    One or more years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

    Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
