HEAD COACH & COMMUNITY GROWTH LEADER

THE OPPORTUNITY
Orangetheory Fitness Applewood is seeking a Head Coach & Community Growth Leader to drive membership growth, coaching excellence, and community engagement—inside the studio and beyond its four walls.
This role is ideal for an experienced fitness professional who leads through connection, accountability, and performance. You will serve as both the standard-setter for coaching excellence and the face of Orangetheory Fitness Applewood in the local community, owning grassroots marketing activations that consistently grow the studio membership base.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Within your first 6–12 months, you will:
Grow net monthly memberships through consistent lead generation and conversion
Execute a minimum of two grassroots community marketing activations per month outside the studio
Improve intro conversion rates and member retention through coach education and accountability
Build, develop, and retain a high-performing coaching team
Increase Orangetheory Fitness Applewood’s visibility and reputation in Wheat Ridge, Applewood, and surrounding neighborhoods
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, execute, and staff 2+ off-site community events per month, including:
Local festivals, markets, and run
Corporate wellness activations
School, nonprofit, and city partnerships
Pop-up workouts and fitness demos
Serve as a visible brand ambassador for Orangetheory Fitness Applewood
Generate leads and collaborate with the sales team on follow-up and conversion
Track event ROI (leads generated, intros booked, memberships sold)
Coach 8–16 classes per week
Lead onboarding, evaluations, and development of the coaching team
Deliver ongoing coach workshops focused on:
Member experience and connection
Conversion-supporting coaching behaviors
Safety, form correction, and workout execution
Ensure consistent delivery of Orangetheory’s science-based, heart-rate-focused workouts
Partner with studio leadership to improve:
Intro conversion rates
Class utilization
Long-term member retention
Reinforce sales-minded coaching behaviors without compromising trust or experience
Assist with scheduling, recruiting, interviewing, and performance management of coaches
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive studio culture
Model professionalism, approachability, and leadership presence at all times
TIME COMMITMENT Coaching: 10-12 classes (14 to 16 hours) This might grow to more than 16 in any given week to cover coach outages. Marketing Outreach: Grassroots events, community events, leadership, events, community outreach, training, and coach development: 12–20 hours per week

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation
$30–$85 per class
$17–$23 per hour (leadership, outreach, training, events)
Performance-based incentives (sales, conversions, reviews)

QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years coaching and/or leadership experience in boutique fitness preferred
One of the following certifications:
ACE, NASM, NSCA, ACSM, or AFAA
CPR/AED certified
Comfortable leading teams, events, and public-facing community activations
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
THE IDEAL HEAD COACH CANDIDATE You are a leader first and a strong coach second. Proven track record of success and time spent gaining each work experience. We are not looking for a job hopper.
