Advanced Refrigeration & Air is seeking an experienced Head Fleet Mechanic to oversee maintenance and repairs for a fleet of 170+ Ford trucks and related equipment, including forklifts and trailers. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, fleet management experience, and the ability to work independently while ensuring DOT compliance and fleet safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance for fleet vehicles and equipment across all locations.
• Ability to identify component failures, worn or damaged parts, diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle systems and produce quality repairs the first time
• Knowledge of Ford I.D.S and T.R.C components and systems preferred.
• Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records using various computer systems.
• Communicate with managers and other personnel regarding vehicle issues and preventative maintenance.
• Coordinate with vendors, repair shops, and insurance companies after incidents.
• Research parts, vehicle information, and assist with evaluating and purchasing fleet vehicles
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead mechanic or fleet management role
• Strong experience with Ford trucks and Ford diagnostic systems
• Clean driving record
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Must provide own mechanic hand tools
• Basic welding skills preferred
• ASE Certification strongly preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Work Schedule & Physical Requirements

• Approximately 45 hours per week
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and over 100 lbs. occasionally
