    About the Role Carbon Performance is raising the standard in group fitness by delivering science-based programming, unmatched coaching, and a culture of accountability. We are seeking a Head Instructor to lead our group fitness department with excellence. This role blends coaching, programming, and leadership—ideal for an instructor who wants to make a bigger impact by guiding both members and fellow coaches.

    Responsibilities

    Coach with Excellence Deliver engaging and effective group classes that align with Carbon’s programming blocks and training philosophy. Ensure every session provides structure, variety, and results for members.

    Own Programming Integrity Safeguard the structure and flow of Carbon’s block-based programming (Foundational, Strength, Functional Athleticism). Ensure classes across all instructors remain consistent, progressive, and on-brand.

    Lead & Develop Instructors Mentor instructors to uphold Carbon’s standards in class delivery, programming execution, and client experience. Provide feedback, support, and accountability to ensure consistent quality across all classes.

    Monitor & Report Track class utilization, member retention, and instructor performance. Provide weekly updates and insights to management with recommendations for improvement.

    Build Community & Culture Foster a high-energy, inclusive, and empowering atmosphere in every class. Lead by example in creating a culture where members feel seen, supported, and connected.

    Stay Ahead Keep current with training trends, certifications, and best practices in group fitness. Share knowledge and push the team to continuously evolve.

    Qualifications

    Certified Group Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer (nationally accredited).

    Proven success in teaching group fitness with measurable client impact.

    Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor and hold others accountable.

    Ability to manage programming, schedules, and multiple priorities with attention to detail.

    CPR/AED certified (or willing to obtain).

    Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field preferred.
